High performance business solution
One of the most compact Escala servers so far,
Escala PL3260R servers
deliver exceptional performance, reliability,
scalability and flexibility, enabling
businesses to tackle workloads while providing more performance per system, more performance per footprint, and hence, more performance per watt.
Equipped with 64-bit POWER6 processors in up to 32-way symmetric multiprocessing (SMP)
configurations, the Escala PL3260R is built to
provide the processing power for a full
range of complex, mission-critical
applications with demanding processing
requirements.
The industrys most powerful consolidation
capabilities
New virtualisation features with micropartitioning
capabilities allow businesses to
increase system utilization, ensuring that
applications get the resources they need.
Each processor can be subdivided in up to
10 micro-partitions, with a maximum of
160 dynamic partitions for the system.
The shared processor pool allows for
automatic non-disruptive balancing of
processing power between partitions -
resulting in increased throughput and
utilisation. Live Partition Mobility from PowerVM Enterprise Edition, allows partitions to be moved from one machine to another with no interuption in service.
Cost saving functionalities
Virtual I/O, allow the
sharing of expensive disk drives,
communications adapters and Fibre
Channel-attached disks, contributes to driving down
system complexity and operating expenses.
Leading RAS keeps mission-critical
applications running
The Escala PL3260R server provides
new levels of proven, mainframe-inspired
RAS for mission-critical applications. Error
checking and correction routines examine
data during ongoing operation and can
correct errors in real time. First Failure Data
Capture (FFDC) capabilities log both the
source and root cause of problems to help
prevent the recurrence of intermittent
failures that diagnostics cannot reproduce.
Dynamic processor and PCI bus slot
deallocation abilities reallocate resources
when an impending failure is detected so
applications continue to run unimpeded.
With ARF (Application Rollover Facility),
Bull provides an innovative high
availability clustering solution that can also
be used for disaster recovery. ARF reduces
costs and complexity through ease of use
at a highly competitive price point.
Tuned for AIX computing
With Escala PL3260R, you
can achieve outstanding, leading-edge performance, scalability, reliability and
flexibility at an extremely attractive price.
Using innovative POWER6 processors in
partitioned configurations, this server can
consolidate dozens or even hundreds of
distributed applications on a much smaller
footprint. It can greatly simplify your IT
infrastructure, share expensive resources
automatically between partitions and
reduce administration costs and complexity.
